Traffic Offender Intervention Program
Traffic Offender Intervention Program is designed to target offenders who have pleaded guilty to, or have been found guilty of, a traffic offence.
The program is community-based road safety education program which provides offenders with the information and skills necessary to develop safer driving behaviours.
You, your lawyer, or the court’s own motion, magistrates can make a referral to an approved traffic course. This means, your case will not be finalised until the program is completed and you have obtained a certificate from the provider.
The program can be completed by attending face-to-face seminars or online.
Minimum standards for approved courses– approved course must be delivered on two separate days over two weeks and cover materials prescribed by the Centre for Roads Safety. Courses can no longer be delivered as a one-day course.
